Oh those amusing judges...
Here's a funny footnote from the dissent in the 9th Circuit opinion in Stewart v. Thorpe Holding Co. (2000):
"Notwithstanding the majority's views to the contrary, if this language--situated in a patch of florid prose at the very end of the opinion, well after the Seventh Circuit had completed its analysis--is not dicta, then there is no such thing as dicta at all."
